Anatomy of a decal
First surface is when the ink is applied directly on the front side of the material. Often opaque, but can be on a clear material with adhesive backing.
Subsurface is printed on the back side of a clear material. The image is reversed while printing, so when viewed through the material, the image is right-reading.
