Vinyl can be functional or decorative, either indoor or outdoor. Its applications are numerous as well as the possibilities for color or shape. Its uses range from nameplates to trademarks, posters and signage to auto striping or bumper stickers. Boasting up to seven years of outdoor durability, vinyl offers an excellent return on investment.
Vinyl (PVC) comes calendared or cast, and conforms better than polyester when applied to curved surfaces. They both have good outdoor durability for three to five years.
Calendared films are typically less expensive than cast films and should be considered by any vinyl user or buyer if flexibility and conformability are not critical application requirements.
